Davening for the amud
A chazan's job on Rosh Hashanah is not performance. The room is not there to listen — it is there to daven, and the person at the amud is carrying them rather than entertaining them. Pace matters more than range. Knowing which piece of nusach to stretch and which to leave plain matters more than either.
Dovid has been doing it for over seven years, for kehillos throughout the United States, across both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Why a singer at the amud
There is a version of this that goes wrong: a performer treating the amud as a stage. The reason Dovid's simcha work and his chazanus reinforce each other is that both are about reading a room and responding to it — a wedding floor at one in the morning and a shul on Yom Kippur afternoon need opposite things, and the skill is knowing which you are standing in.
His recorded work runs the same range, from the dance floor material through to Nachamu and the quieter tracks on Miracles 4.

Yes. Shabbatons and individual Shabbos or Yom Tov davening are both available, not only the Yamim Noraim.

How far in advance should a shul book?
The Yamim Noraim are usually taken months ahead — many shuls arrange their baal tefillah before the summer. If you are looking for the coming year, ask straight away and we will tell you honestly what is still open.
